Personal Support Workers (PSWs)

Position Summary:
A Personal Support Worker (PSW) assists individuals with daily living activities, health needs, and mobility challenges. Duties include personal care, meal preparation, medication reminders, and light housekeeping. Attention to detail, empathy, patience, and physical stamina are essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with bathing, dressing, and personal care.

  • Support mobility and transfers.

  • Prepare meals and assist with feeding.

  • Provide medication reminders and monitor health.

  • Perform light housekeeping.

  • Communicate with healthcare providers and families.

  • Follow safety, hygiene, and infection control protocols.

Working Conditions:
Work occurs in homes, care facilities, or community settings, involving lifting, standing, and physical assistance. Exposure to health risks may occur. Protective gear is required. Hours may include nights or weekends.
